The Annual Sales Conference Scramble
Wow, it’s nearly November. Before we know it, we’ll have unwrapped all the Christmas presents, popped the New Year’s champagne corks and recovered from the last of our sunburn from a short, but well-deserved summer holiday. And then…
SALES CONFERENCE TIME!!
While many will be repeating the COVID-style remote conferences again this year (and the opportunity to attend in your pyjamas will be overwhelmingly tempting) there are still plenty of ducks to get into their proverbial rows leading up to the big day.
Here is a handy checklist of items you may need to consider:
1. Presentations
Make them slick, succinct, and impactful. Well presented, easy to read, digestible content will keep your audience engaged.
2. Infographics
Pictures tell a thousand words. In fact according to brainrules.net, information presented with a relevant visual is 55% more likely to be retained three days after a presentation verses hearing only.
3. Showreels and motivational videos
Even in virtual events, a well-produced and edited video can provide a boost in attention span, create positive memories and reinforce key messages.
4. Digital leave-behinds
Whether it’s key messages, or instructional content, presenting a leave-behind to staff requires content to be engaging and easily accessible. In larger organisations, one size rarely fits all, so creating an interactive PDF that enables users to skip directly to relevant content will increase usability and engagement with your content. It also reduces the need to replicate multiple versions of similar content – saving time and money.
5. Sales tools
Don’t let the momentum slow! Now the team is revved up and ready to go, hit the ground running and have your 2022 sales tools available straight after the conference. Take the time NOW to ask them how they approach customers and build out a suite of materials that solve existing bottle necks (i.e. if it wasn’t for this, then I could do that), or fill a void in their current process (i.e. If I had this, then I could do that). Printed leave behinds, or digital interactive tools that make your team’s job easier will inevitably lead to more effective customer interactions.

Sales Conference time is an added layer of responsibility and stress on top of an already frantic time of pushing through 2021 projects, wrapping up budgets, starting new budgets, and planning for 2022. Starting early to develop event branding, presentation templates and tools can ease the stress levels heading into December. Leaving you to focus on enjoying your holiday break and time with your family – not flinging sausages on the BBQ with one hand and emails from your phone on the other!
